Kickstarter: Escape CotT Big Box (close May 8th)
I'm looking for a group buy for the new Escape: Curse of the Temple (Big Box edition) from Queen games:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/10 ... pe-big-box
[EDIT] We have a full 6-pack order, but have had confirmation we can add more copies of anything to the order without further shipping, so if your interested in anything from the kickstarter, please reply below
It's $70 a set, and $60 flat rate shipping (!) So doing the maths, three copies would be $90 each and six copies would be $80 each.
$80 is around the retail price of just the base game in Australia, and the two expansions included in this big box retail close to $40 each.
Ideally, I'm after that six pack, but to be honest would be content with even a two pack ($100 each). Anyone else like to join in ?
If so, reply to the post, and feel free to specify which your minimum entry level is (E.g. I'm in, but only if we get to a 3 pack, or only if we get to a 6 pack).
All prices are in USD.

Have already got three pledges (so $90/copy) - woohoo - still room for three more (to get us to $80/copy).

I really quite wanted the Kingdom Builder Big Box but baulked at the $60 delivery price, so this interests me.
However, neither of the Escape pledge levels for 3 copies or 6 copies seem to suggest you are allowed to add 1 copy of Kingdom Builder as well (or the other games for that matter) - despite other pledge levels clearly allowing it.
I've emailed Queen to see if they allow it, but apparently they aren't amazing at responding.
If they do allow it, I might be in.

Well, my pledge is up to six boxes now, so unless Queen Games changes anything, then I'm at full capacity.
That said, I have got two MORE people interested in a copy, so if there is a third, then you're already on for another 3-pack, and I'm happy to put everyone in communication with each other.
It does seem that with the $60 postage, you choices are:
(a) one game - $60/game: forget it
(b) two games - $30/game: Still pricey, but you can pick any two big boxes, pretty much
(c) three games - $20/game: Getting reasonable. But you can only have Escape, nothing else.
(d) four or five games: Not interested.
(e) six games - $10/game: Very reasonable. But, still, you can only have Escape, nothing else.
(f) more than six games: Not interested.
With a little more flexability / addons they could open it up much better for the postage-paying regions. Maybe they don't care too much; it adds complexity at fulfillment time, and I dare say they will be losing money on shipping for those bigger orders.
[EDIT] Message sent to Queen games as there one (and only !) 6-pack backer to see if they might do me a deal, if not open up the KS in general to more flexible addons.
That said, if other options open up, I'm happy to add them in.

as per my response from Queen Games you are 100% correct.phantomwhale wrote: (c) three games - $20/game: Getting reasonable. But you can only have Escape, nothing else.

It doesn't make much sense to me to have such rigid options, does it really matter which 6 (or 3) games they ship!

Re: Kickstarter: Escape CotT Big Box (close May 8th)
Queen games have just messaged me to say:
In other words:
* Escape Stretch goals only - $38
* Escape BB - $70
* Alhambra BB - $50
* Fresco BB - $70
* Kingdom Builder BB - $85
So if anyone still wants in, for any of the things, let me know !
crikeythecat - Kingdom Builder BB for you ?
Regards,
Ben
So I take this (and have replied to them to get 100% confirmation) to mean I can add ANY of the rewards at the appropriate, shipping free price (as I am paying the $60 flat rate shipping already).Hi Ben,
Add what you need to your pledge sir. We are treating pledges at this tier as custom events. Thank you so much!

Our pledge is now closed - at 880 USD, we are too close to the Custom tax limit ($1000 AUD) to add anything more !
