Special Announcment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More gaming for EGF

Post by intheclear » Tue Jun 09, 2009 10:41 pm

Yes EGF will go to first and third sunday of the month. Seems it will be supported. So the next date will be the 21st of June at the same time 11.00am.
Price will have to be $4.00 just to make sure we can cover the room, which we would need at least 10 attendees each event. This will cover the room and buying some biscuits, the room rent at the moment is $35.00, and might like last year go up at the end of June to $40. We have about $150 in bank in case numbers are low to draw on if we have to. Thanks for all the support of ones opening and closing seems to be working a bit better now.
The bonus is we have the room to ourselves so we can make noise if needed. A quick vacuum at end of day gaming is needed as the cleaners are scheduled on a saturday, before we play. All other rules apply as to taking away our rubbish and not eating their biscuits(ours are nicer anyway).
Ps. Can someone please post on Dockers, Billabong and the main forums so that we can let all know of the new arrangement. Happy Gaming to all :)
Any questions can be answered in this forum.
The dates in September won't conflict with convic 8, 11th-13th (which is good)

Excellent. Do you think it's worth asking for a slightly cheaper rate as we are using it more often? They are going to be getting double the money from us for no real extra burden on them (as they aren't meeting on Sundays at the moment).

If it isnt complaints about opening, or transport not running on time, it now appears to be cost. Get a grip on something that is more than 6 feet from your body odour.

Any additional income that the club derives is short term as it allows for the increased investment in its library of games.

If we have consistently good numbers coming I think there is a good argument for keeping it at $3.

I'm practicing for becoming an old-age pensioner I guess.

Magic word "If".

The risk as previously acknowledged is that by more frequent comings together there is a distinct possibility that the group might dilute across the increased offerings. History in other groups has proven this to be true.

Hindsight is wonderful, finances are not. So if the downside is that we get a bigger library of games for the club, I think everyone will wear that.

A showing of about 14 people last weekend with almost 10 or so regulars at BorderCon illustrates how easy it is to dilute a group.

Glad that that's been cleared up now.

Can I humbly suggest also that we update the description on the melbournegamers.com main page to reflect the new meeting frequency?
