EGF Jan 3

Post by brett » Wed Dec 31, 2008 10:21 am

Keeping this separate from the EGF room/noise thread, is anyone interested in playing a game of 18AL on saturday? It's much shorter than other 18xx games (maybe only 3 hours) and we've even managed to fit in a 5 player at dockers before.

I would be interested, having read the rules to a few 18xx games, but not ever having played before. However, I should warn you that because I am working that morning and on call the entire weekend, I may turn up late, and in theory I could be called away. So I would be just as happy to watch for a bit, rather than play.

I'd be interested in 18AL-- but I've never played an 18xx before either. I'm hoping to be there from 11.

If anyone is bringing the new Cosmic Encounter, I'd love to give it a go. Though I don't know about recording how many external bases you have -- what is up with that? No more sneaking a win?

If anyone is interested in playing the old Eon version, I've got it (complete). I'm hoping the new version reawakens interest in CE, and I'll get to play it more.

The new version is awesome. We played five games last weekend. I don't know who else apart from Stompy has a copy, but I also hope to get a game in this EGF.

I thought you were going to stick to hardcore 2-player war games only Ben.

I'll be bringing Space Alert, with a 100W surround sound system.

My copy arrived so I now have it too.
We misplayed a few rules, most notably tech (you get to tech up on EVERYONES encounter phases, not just your own.)
I'm eager for more games.

I expect to be at EGF by 12 noon. I don't expect anyone to wait for me, hold a place, or anything of that nature!

CE and Space Alert are definitely post 4.30pm games.

These are the preapproved list of games from 10am-4.30pm:

Solitaire
Chess
Go
Bridge
