EGF July 5th

Post by gregor » Sat Jun 28, 2008 2:23 pm

I've got a few new games I'd like to try out:
Container
Glory to Rome
Before the Wind
In the Year of the Dragon
Congo Line
Hatu Matu

as well as a prototype for a card game from Phil (sedge on bgg), called Dance Off.

Any interest?

I'm hoping to be there from 10-6.

I will try to be there by 10 am but I have to leave by 2 or 3 pm as i have to be in Bendigo for a birthday party that night.

I will bring Betrayal at the House on the Hill.

I also want to try History of the Roman Empire...same game mechanics as History of the World. 4 players

Other possibilities
Successors 4 players
Pacific Typhoon card game. 4 to 6 players preferable.

Don't mind trying container and In the year of the Dragon. Just purchased Chang Cheng and went for the twenty dollar deal at milsims (Blood Fued in New York) if ant interest, might try these as well?

I thought Chang Cheng was quite fun, would like to try that again. Haven't heard anything about BFiNY.

Blood Feud in New York is a fun game if played in the right mood. It has player elimination which some people may not like. There is a house rule variant which I had proposed on BGG and the designer had supported with a slight modification which allows players to stay in the game.

It is basically "Ameritrash" style game where players play the part of mobsters trying to control New York while carrying out hits on other "Godfathers" with thugs, henchmen or hitmen. You can bribe police and have penthouses. Each player has a "family" and one Big Boss which represents the player.

Sending a limousine full of thugs to carry out a hit or dropping a couple of hitmen onto an unprotected Boss's penthouse for a "hit" is satisifying if you can pull it off.

I will bring The Devil's Cauldron if anyone wants to give it a go with me. Otherwise, would look forward to 4 player Successors!

Does anyone have a copy of Manoeuvre they might be bringing along? I'd very much like to try that game. I've been thinking about whether to go and buy it, and I'd like to give it a try.

If someone is, maybe you would like to arrange a time during the day to play this?
