I also found a couple of rules after playing the hot new game Panic Station:
1. Panic has nothing to do with what happens in the game, it's actually about what you do when you realise you've bought such an absolute stinker then wasted your time playing it instead of something awesome.
2. The infection is actually spread by trading the game itself, not just by the cards. How silly of me! This way, other groups can also get infected with the joy of playing the latest shiny new thing. This is how everybody wins!
Bonus post-game rule 3. Give this game a low rating (like 1) on BGG to get stalked by the designer himself. Wow. If only he was teaching it we'd have had the time of our lives. We missed out. Must be our fault then. Bummer.
By the way, we were playing with the most recent rules, the original ones were even more broken (they gave everyone a gas can at the start so humans could trade with each other without fear, also the host didn't necessarily come out at the start so you could break it by never searching after the first round if the host didn't come out then).
Oh well, sometimes you have to try these things to find the hidden gems.
Held at Wadham House, Mount Waverley, first and third Sunday of every month.
