According to the good games melbourne website the store is open and they're expecting us.

I might try and show up tonight.

does anyone know if there's a better place to park than out on the street? I got burned for a ticket because I hadn't realized that you had to pay up until 8:30pm instead of 7:30pm the last time I went to Good Games.

extract from : http://www.melbournegamers.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1503
- There are multi storey car parks close by with all night parking for $6 from 5pm. Wilson Parking 200 Queen Street. Book online at https://www.wilsonparking.com.au/go/book-a-bay and it's only $3.50.

Don't know if anybody turned up last night or not - being Boxing Day (and a Public Holiday) I wasn't expecting Dockers to be very active.

For future reference: (See Melbourne City Council: Parking on Public Holidays)
Melbourne City Council wrote:
  • For parking signs that state days of the week (including clearways, loading zones and no stopping signs), parking and time restrictions on the signs do not apply and you do not need to pay the parking fee if the parking spot is metered.
  • For all other parking signs that do not state days of the week (including clearways, loading zones and no stopping signs), you must observe parking and time restrictions and pay the parking fee if the parking spot is metered.

  • Left Panel: Parking restrictions apply on the days specified (circled in red) unless they fall on a public holiday or day in lieu.
  • Right panel: No days of the week are specified, so the parking restrictions apply every day of the year, including public holidays and days in lieu.

I'm aware of the rules of parking signs. I just didn't notice the change in time range in the area where I normally parked and got burned for it.

I may do that pre-booking thing for the Wilson night parking though. Sounds like a good alternative.

Three people showed up on Boxing Day, and we ended up playing War of the Ring, 3player.
