Dockers GAME OF THE YEAR

With a New Year soon upon us, and considering I've been keeping track of the games we've been playing I've decided to put together the inaugural Dockers GAME OF THE YEAR AWARD.

This is based purely on the number of plays on the assumption that if its been played a lot its gotta be good.

Much like the Academy Awards i have a couple of categories:

FILLER - GAME OF THE YEAR:
I have given these their own category as many of them are played multiple times at the end of the night, and would be clear winners over a 2 hour game

- SHADOW HUNTERS

Honourable Mention:
- CHRONONAUTS set the early filler pace, but tailed off in the later stages of the year

GAME OF THE YEAR :smt023

Hansa Tuetonica
(sorry James)

Honourable Mentions:

Core Worlds
Eclipse
Merchants & Marauders
Alien Frontiers
Le Havre

Ineligible Mention:

Tzolk'in
Was potentially on its way to glory, until the owner left the country with the game, for fear of reprisals over miscalculating the end of the world

And an awards night wouldn't be complete without:

TURKEY GAME OF THE YEAR
:wall:

Dungeon Run
It looked good on paper, but nobody risked stepping in the dungeon again

Dis-Honourable Mention

Imperial
I rated it worse on BGG than Dungeon Run, but I know some of you like it

Nice work Adrian!

I would have thought Le Havre would have won or been up there.

I predict Eclipse in 2013 as I will play it solo in a room on my own every week if no-one else wants to play it - the Dockers award is so coveted and I feel I owe it to Touko. Still cannot believe I let Paul run away with the last game - too tired by that point... all because he betrayed his alliance and broke my count!

Dungeon Run should be burned - such a bad game

Nothing against Le Havre, i prefer it to Hansa, however on play count alone Le Havre didn't make it (probably should be in my honourable mentions). Hansa by quite a bit - i seem to recall one night where Hansa was being played in 2 rooms at once.

Bohnanza. Think it was only played 2-3 times this year.

Given that we have had some pleasant disputes over this topic, i thought i would track the games in a more official list.
That way if anybody can truly be bothered we can try and work out which game got the most 'hours' put into it.

So here it is (I've started recording all the plays on my BGG account):

If you can't be bothered to look at this, i'll still keep the 'sticky' updated:
