CONVIC, Sat 12th September

How about playing a long involved multiplayer non-euro (fun) game on the Saturday?

I'd love to play:

Angola
Here I Stand
The Napoleonic Wars
Dune
Poker (I can bring poker chips and a portable felt table)
Napoleon's Triumph
Titan
Republic of Rome

or anything else along those lines

I would be up for Nappy Wars, Here I Stand or Poker.
Republic of Rome is super nasty, worse than Diplomacy; As long as everyone is aware of that.
Titan has too much down-time for more than three players, unless you enjoy watching other people play the sub-game for hours.
Napoleon's Triumph would involve me getting stabbed by my partner for incompetence.

I don't own most of the games above, including RoR and TNW. While I would argue that RoR isn't as nasty as Diplomacy, I am happy to play it, though most of my games see senators squabbling over money and influence while Hannibal pillages, rampages and conquers Rome.

I'll bring the Poker chips. If we play NT, you can play on my team - I won't stab, just court-martial you once the game is over

It was probably just me; My faction wasn't going to win, so I wanted everyone else who could not win to bring down the republic. That may not have been in the spirit of the game Christian? haha

Not just you - it happened all the time when I'd play back in Brazil. The first republic is tough. And my friends are all selfish corrupt competitive senatorial bastards. Oh, I miss them.

It may have been because Hayden was playing. He was winning, I think he wanted to kill me. I made a point of checking my brake lines before driving home that night. haha

Just a quick note, as it came up at an earlier ConVic....

No money involved in games. We don't have a licence.

Thanks

I'd be interested in Here I Stand, or any of the others. No takers for Wellington with 4?

I'd play Wellington, just not familiar with it. Sword of Rome would also be a cool 5 player game (anyone have the expansion?).

I'll play:

Here I Stand
Angola
Republic of Rome

Heck, just because there'll be dice fests, I'll play Wellington and its ilk.
