OK, I have organised the next ConVic. It's number 9, & going strong.

Dates 3rd-5th September 2010
This is now final!
Fri 5-Midnight
Sat 10-Midnight
Sun 10-5pm

Location: Same as last year, Laverton Bowls Club

Cost: $10 for the weekend or any part of it
If you billet an inter-state or out-of-towner, then the cost is $5.

Put the dates in your diary, & further details will be forthcoming soon.

Jack will be organising the legendary RoboRally game again.
There will probably not be a Bowls tournament this year.
If you want to organise something, please let me know.

The question is... do we have a prize table again this year, or not?

Regards
Julian

If this date is final, then we have agreed to cancel EGF for this same weekend in preference to supporting ConVic 9.

Apparently editing doesn't bump it up the list...

Dates are fixed for the original weekend & Doug Partridge is returning to Melbourne from Tassie (after 3 years+) for the weekend, so that is a good reason for attending if you needed one!

For those who wanted explanations...
Prize table works like this:
You bring games to the Con & put them for the prize table. Anything; rare ,common, new or second-hand. Games & their accessories only. Bundled items must be related. A contributor is chosen at random to start, & picks from the table. Whoever gave that chooses next etc. In the US copies of rare oop games & shrink-wrapped games are common. I guess it might take a few years for us to match that. Join in with enthusiasm & not for a quick profit & it'll be fun.

Correct, however, this does.

What a shame.

We will be apologies as already committed to Aussiecon 4 that weekend.

There will be other gamers in town visiting, but likely to be fully occupied I suspect.

Result!!

We now have commitments from Tasmania, Victoria, ACT, NSW & South Australia!! We have gone national at last. I'm working on my Qlders friends. Anyone want to put some more pressure on (be more encouraging with) Kevin O'Brien, AJ Key, Andrew Hazlewood, John Friendless Farrell & others?

If you're sure you're coming, please go to my website & add your name - the more names, the more enticing for others to come.

Adam MAY be organising a bowls tourney again.

The RoboRally is looking like it could be the best yet & will really challenge experienced players to think outside their usual box.

If you can offer a billet &/or transport for some interstate visitors, please send me a PM. Let's create a helpful gaming community here. You don't have to be able to do both, nor even to attend the event at the same time.

See you soon,

Julian
