The Australia Games Expo

Post by bsmith » Sun Apr 30, 2006 4:24 pm

Hope to see you all there on June 10/11!

The site has undergone a facelift:

http://www.austgamesexpo.com/index.htm

----------------------------------------------

Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th June 2006

To be held at the Albury Convention & Performing Arts Centre,
Swift Street, Albury, New South Wales, Australia.

At the Australian Games Expo the first sanctioned Australian Settlers of Catan and Carcassonne Tournaments will be conducted. The first prize for both disciplines will be return flights to the Essen 2006 Games Fair for the World Championships.

The exhibitors are expected to be retailers, manufacturers, (possibly represented by their Australian agents), game authors/designers and other related companies and/or persons.

This is not a trade fair, but is open to the public, with the purpose of raising the profile of Euro, other board and card games, within Australia.

It looks like 21 have signed up for Settlers and 15 for Carcassonne. I would like to think there will be at least 40 players maybe more come June 10th.

Anyone else going to enter the tournament?

Ben and I are going. We're probably staying at Country Comfort Albury. Very very important that they have cable channel and SBS for World Cup matches. Know of another guy going, don't know what accomodation he has planned, do you want me to ask him if he wants to share with you?

I back skill, and fair-playing. This has nothing to do with national pride. I love the game for what it is and the best team should win. Sorry to say also that Australia is probably at a 1000 to 1 to win. :D

You wish!! Don't want to take your $10 mate. Also who knows with soccer. Another 'hand of God' incident and I may lose my shirt.... :?
