Boardgames in preston this monday

Post by dougp » Fri Nov 09, 2007 11:04 am

I've organized to have boardgames this monday (12/11) in preston. The venue is bigger than the EGF venue.

Northern Community Church of Christ
81 High St Preston (cnr oakover rd)
From around 6:30-7 til late.

Enter through the side door (off oakover rd).

It's just up from where Plenty Rd turns off high st (south of bell st). So it's reasonably close to tram 86 and to bell station (epping line).

If there's interest, there's the potential that it could become a regular thing (once or twice a month). So it would be good if people could indicate they're interested in gaming on a monday night in preston, even if you can't make it this monday.

Given it's in a church, is swearing and alcohol allowed Doug? If not, I can't play and Hayden should be banned permanently. :) (Well OK.. we can do without the alcohol)

If you want to bring a few beers, that's fine. The area is hired out for birthday parties, etc, so I don't think anyone will mind. There's fridges, and a microwave and tea and coffee. Any naughty language on the other hand, will cause a rift will open in the floor and you will be taken straight in to the pits of hell.

I didn't plan to charge anything this time, but if it becomes a regular thing I might ask for a gold coin donation to the church.

I haven't played age of steam in ages, but we have been playing crayon rail games a lot (empire builder, eurorails, etc). But it is likely we'll be playing eurogames tomorrow.

(I added further explanation of the location in the first post)

5 people turned up. It was good. But I'm still deciding whether it's worth running again, given there are so many other opportunities to play games.

My feedback....

I can play these games with these people both at Dockers & my home on a frequent &/or regular basis. Because of that, I'd not go again.

If there were a new group of people to game with, meet, socialise with etc, then it gains new appeal & I'd change my attitude.

Just my 2c.
