Dear Christian and Jon

What was that game we were talking about at a eurogamesfest once. It was some sort of live action role playing thing where you have to get favour with the king.

I am interested in playing it some time.

From the game's website:

Long Live the King (LLK) is a strategic roleplaying game. Or maybe it's a live-action strategy game. Call it either one. It's a strategy game with cards, but instead of sitting at a table in the tradition of typical games, you actually walk around and act the role of a character in the court of the dying king. The goal is to have fun in your role, but also to become the new ruler of the kingdom (you don't really want the king to live very long!).

Seems to me like a mix of a party game / werewolf / roleplay, which I like. We need 8 players at least (which includes a moderator/game master), though it can accomodate for more.

My thoughts are either:

1 - Host this at Eurogamesfest

This would be an easier place to get people at, but I don't know how many of you would be willing to set aside a whole afternoon for a game (and give up opportunities to play A Victory Lost, CC:E : Smile ) - we might not get enough numbers.

2 - Host this at my house in Kensington

3 - Play it at the next Convic

Anyone interested?

At a roleplaying convention that would be called a "freeform".

In my recollection of the terminology:

o Normal roleplaying games being sitting around a table playing them.
o Freeforms involve wandering around the room(s) talking to people doing things (anywhere from 10 to 100 people). Usually, but not always systemless (i.e not necessarily tied to a particular roleplaying system).
o Live Action Role Playing is more the dressing up and walking/running around (often with fake weapons) [think Cowboys and Indians with props]

I am good for EGF. I don't think the games last that long do they?
I think 3 hours should be enough.

I'm interested in playing this at Eurogamesfest (LLK that is, I might give the one in the video a miss!)

I can't come to this EGF - but don't let that hold you back.
