1944: Race to the Rhine

Postby prd1982 » Tue May 27, 2014 3:26 pm

Is anyone interested in 1944: Race to the Rhine?
BGG page: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1486 ... -the-rhine

Looks both unique and interesting. The 1st print run produced 500 copies and they are now available for sale. The MSRP is $75.
Rulebook is here: http://www.phalanxgames.pl/wp-content/u ... intern.pdf

The game as lots of nice components and the box looks relatively big.

Cost?
Quote to the US from Poland are as follows:
-- 1x Race to the Rhine (including shipping) – 90$
-- 2x Race to the Rhine (including shipping) – 155$
-- 3x Race to the Rhine (including shipping) – 215$ (i.e. $70 each)
-- (Potentially more of a discount for larger orders.)
I've sent a query about getting an order sent to Australia, but I suspect it would be around the same.

Anyone else interested in this????

That actually looks really interesting and different, if not quite complex as well.
Interested to hear their response regarding getting it to Aus.

And thats a +1 by the way (provided they can get it here)

Update:

Rebel.pl got back to me with the following:
3 copies - AUD$118 each (incl. shipping)
4 copies - AUD$113 each (incl. shipping)
I believe these rates are for priority shipping (I've asked them to confirm).

Planszostrefa.pl gave me the following quotes:
3 copies – economic – AUD$81.5 each (incl. shipping)
4 copies – economic – AUD$84.5 each (incl. shipping)
5 copies – economic – AUD$81 each (incl. shipping)
I've confirmed that this economic method is SeaMail (6-8 weeks), but they say this includes tracking. I suspect that the original to-the-US rates I cited were for this economic shipping (I know it was from this shop). They've also confirmed their components are in English. While they're priority shipping rates from the 4pc and 5pc orders were +$15/game than rebel.pl, their quote for 3 pc priority was 970zł (i.e. AUD$116.5).

Each copy weighs 2.5kg.

Here's a component list:
components:
- rulebook (16 pages);
- game board (ca. 22 x 33 inches);
- wooden blocks in 3 colors: 4 red, 3 white and 3 blue;
- 110 cards;
- wooden pieces: 35 gas barrels, 30 ammo, 25 food, 32 transport trucks;
- 3 counter sheets;
- stickers (10) for blocks;
- 3 black 6-sided dice (used only in solitaire game);
- plastic zip bags.

Who's interested? And in which option? What's the "breaking point" in terms of price?

:D

Paul, I'm interested. Happy to do $118, as it is only 500 copies.

Hi Paul

Decided against it. Think Adrian just wanted to buy it off me when I sold it

Cheers anyway

Put me down for one if there is still one left. I am happy with either price too.
Let me know who and how to pay at the appropriate time.

yes I'm in - i'd probably prefer the cheaper option (as i'll be overseas myself for quite a few weeks), however I will go with the flow.

OK.

So it's:
prd1982 (me)
Doug Adams
Adrian (crikeythecat)
Chee-Yan (cyhiew)
Trev

I think we'll go with the speedy option; with this many people it should run roughly $110 each -- I'll confirm the final total once it's been processed. Exciting!

edit: ok, ok. We'll do the cheaper option. Some have a strong pref for it while everyone seems happy with either. Should be about $80 each.
