Eminent Domain - is anyone else interested in pre-ordering?

Post by ludo » Sat Nov 06, 2010 1:17 pm

Hi all-

Eminent Domain is a new game from Tasty Minstrel. They also produce Homesteaders and Terra Prime. The BGG page for Eminent Domain is here.

It is an action-selection/deck-building game that uses cards; but every player has actions after each card is played (so it is like Glory to Rome, or Puerto Rico combined with Cuba). Thematically, Eminent Domain is about colonising space, but it does not play like Race for the Galaxy.

Tasty Minstrel are asking for pre-orders to fund production costs. They need $20,000US, and have about $15K already. Preorders will be printed and mailed early next year - they should be ready before the end of February. Tasty Minstrel charge $40 to ship to Australia, whether you pre-order 1 copy, 3 copies or even 6 copies. Pre-orders include some extra cards that will not be in the "regular" edition. It would cost $130 to get three copies.

Does anyone want to join-in with me? We can split the postage cost, and the games themselves are cheaper if more copies are ordered. i.e. 3 copies are $90 + $40 shipping, 6 copies are $150 + $40. So an order for 3 will cost $43 per game, but an order for 6 will be $32 each...

I want to take advantage of the exchange rate, and we need to subscribe before Wednesday next week or it could be too late! Please reply on this thread, or send me a message here. I will be at EGF on Sunday too.

Cheers,

Rob S

Some people in Canberra have been talking about a group pre-order.

Yes, I saw this last night - but they seem to have enough people and I don't see any saving in mailing copies again within Australia.

OK, cool- we are going ahead! Anyone else should jump in pretty quick - I'll order immediately if it looks like the pre-order target is about to be filled, otherwise Wednesday 10th is the deadline.

\:D/ \:D/ \:D/ This gets better and better! \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

There are now 5 pledges: Rob & Erin, Andrew, Aaron, Joe, and Trev.

Unless someone else decides to join-in, I will take two copies so we get the best price. The extra copy will either be sold at cost or I will put it into the next maths-trade.

:cheer: Post a reply ASAP if you want the last one. :cheer:

There is one day to go before I complete the order.

Cost is $32 per copy. I'm happy to wait until the box arrives - we can catch-up at EurogamesFest or some other agreeable location. I don't expect to receive anything until next year.

If you want to get regular updates, join Kickstarter and then go to Follow Eminent Domain.

Cheers to all,

Rob

I'm in.

I still need to get my missing tiles for Homesteaders but they've assured us this one will go better.

OK! We are done!

Thank you and congratulations to everyone who posted a reply. I have orders from Aaron, Andrew, Joe, Tim, Trev... and Erin.

My apologies to Meng - six copies in one shipment is the biggest pre-order available. You might be able to join the guys from Canberra. If you don't mind waiting until the end of January, I'm sure someone going to Cancon would act as courier.

If I get any messages etc, I'll post details here.

Cheers,

Rob

Didn't realise there was a limit of 6, no problem.

32 shipped?

If there are another 6 people keen, Meng and I will take one each? 4 slots left?
