Werewolf V

Post by Stompy » Fri Dec 15, 2006 9:03 am

ok, here's the deal. A 5-6 player Werewolf game.

The roles (which will be allocated ramdomly) are:

Werewolf: The game is over when The werewolf dies, or if only 1 werewolf and 1 other player remain.

Sorcerer: The Sorcerer is on the werewolf team and wins if the werewolf wins. The sorcerer looks like a villager to the seer. During the night, the sorcerer looks at one player, and the moderator tells them if that player is the SEER or not.

The werewolf and sorcerer do NOT know each others identity.

Seer: During the night, the seer looks at one player and the moderator tells them if that player is the Werewolf or not.

Hunter The hunter is a villager with the following ability: If at the end of the game, the only 2 remaining players are the hunter and the werewolf, then the hunter kills the werewolf and the village wins.

Villager(s) Have no special ability apart from the general daily Vote.

Notable things:
1. As In the last game there will be no PMing each other. Everything you have to say will be open for everyone to see.
2. Roles are not revealed when someone is killed.
3. The game starts with a Night phase where the Werewolf does not kill, but the Sorceror and the Seer both get a viewing.
4. The player with the most number of votes gets lynched during the Day. In the case of a tie, the first player to reach the most number of votes is lynched.

Sigh, I better be the Werewolf.
My acting skills are wasted on a lesser part.

Are you letting the seer and sorcerer choose their N0 view? Or are you randomly giving them a not-seer, not-wolf view?

Just to make it more complicated, what about a tinker who doesn't know he or she is a tinker and he/she will look like a wolf to the seer and the seer to the sorcerer?

I don't see a problem about letting the Seer and Sorc choose their N0 targets. So what if they strike gold in N0? They'll still have to convince the rest of us that they're who they say they are. It makes the game start-up so much more interesting.

If the sorcerer is you and the seer is Bsmith I feel quite sure all of us will lynch Bsmith just based on YOU would know how to 'play' the village

Anna and I had a discussion about the no PM rule. It' important that if you're in a position to talk freely about the game in real life that you just don't do it. All communication must be done in the message forum only.
It can be tricky, it would be very easy to let slip a "hey are you the werewolf?" or a "quick, go and vote now".
Personally I'm of the opinion that any talk related to the game gives an unfair advantage. Thoughts?
