Werewolf IV

Post by TaleSpinner » Tue Dec 05, 2006 10:07 pm

I've read in BGG about a great version of werewolf that plays extremely well for 5-6 players:

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/30034

It really sounds great and ideal for the low number of players we tend to have here. Basically, the roles are the Werewolf, the Seer, the Sorceror, the Hunter and the Villager(s).

To re-hash, the roles are:

Werewolf: The game is over when The werewolf dies, or if only 1 werewolf and 1 other player remain.

Sorcerer: The Sorcerer is on the werewolf team and wins if the werewolf wins. The sorcerer looks like a villager to the seer. During the night, the sorcerer looks at one player, and the moderator tells them if that player is the SEER or not.

The werewolf and sorcerer do NOT know each others identity.

Seer: During the night, the seer looks at one player and the moderator tells them if that player is the Werewolf or not.

Hunter The hunter is a villager with the following ability: If at the end of the game, the only 2 remaining players are the hunter and the werewolf, then the hunter kills the werewolf and the village wins.

Villager(s) Have no special ability apart from the general daily Vote.

Other things to note:
1. In this game, I'm going to disallow PMing to each other. If you have something to say, post it in the forum thread. It'll keep the game from looking like it's dying.
2. Roles are not revealed when someone is killed.
3. The game starts with a Night phase where the Werewolf does not kill, but the Sorceror and the Seer both get a viewing.
4. The player with the most number of votes gets lynched during the Day. In the case of a tie, the first player to reach the most number of votes is lynched.

Players:
1. jttm80
2. bsmith
3. Stompy
4. annawid
5. christianmoura
6. redturtle

Not enough players apparently. Which is why I'm suggesting this one. It's sometimes been refered to as "gun-in-the-mouth" Werewolf; it's practically do-or-die from Day 1.

Yeah OK sign me up for this one as well. If some of the regulars joined the Underpants game we may actually get that going too!

Excellent, welcome aboard, christian!

Just waiting to see if one more would join, but we can already start with 5 players. I'll give it till the end of today, and then PM out the roles. That way, the Seer and the Sorceror will have the weekend to determine who they want to View.

Excellent. Then I'll start the game.

I've updated the first post with the rules and role descriptions. Am sending out the roles right now.

Remember that we're starting with the Night phase, so can the Seer and the Sorceror please send me who you want to view. If you both PM me farily quickly, I'll be able to start Day 1 today, otherwise I'll start it Monday next week.

In an attempt to counter any sabotage made by the werewolf against me, I'll start distribuiting this catchy catchphrase:

If you accuse a Jon, then the Werewolf has won.

Say it with me!
If you accuse a Jon, then the Werewolf has won.

One more time!
If you accuse a Jon, then the Werewolf has won.

Excellent. Now, don't make me deploy the Chewbacca defense.

Cool. Haven't played this before - I guess we wait until the day dawns so I can start accusing all and sundry and doing whatever it takes not be lynched as an innocent man.
