Thanks for the reminder about Billabong Boardgamers! I might pass that info on right now.

Re: RIP dearly beloved snacks...

They've been put under the Willy Wonka candy banner haven't they? That annoys me. The entire Charlie and the Chocolate Factory world is about incredible, fantastical candy, and yet the only original thing I have seen under that banner was the Mud Sludge bar which was effectively a chocolate bar with...

Re: EGF Sunday 17th of January

My comic shop guy lives out Aspendale Gardens way, would this event be a good way to meet some east side gamers for him? If so I might try and roll up with to try it out for a few hours, see if we can find him some people that are willing to game semi frequently out that side. Is it just a case of r...

Re: RIP dearly beloved snacks...

Was it Chickadees? I remember something similar as wee lad. For the longest time I wanted Toobs back. I even signed a petition to try to convince the makers that the world needed the mouth cutting, mouth burning sensation of Toobs. Now they are back and I am over the moon. Most of my candy memories ...

Re: Long time sporadic gamer, first time poster.

The whole corps thing is an interesting idea, I think as a kid I would have lost my mind over it. I loved having the Green Lion as my favourite Voltron body part, or Donatello as my favourite turtle. At the minute I am really struggling to connect with the story or something so I hadn't even thought...

Re: Long time sporadic gamer, first time poster.

I do my shopping at Classic Comics (near Parliament Station). I am indeed collecting Blackest Night. I have cut back a lot, I still get Green Lantern and co. so I can talk a little comics with the guys, otherwise I generally read Vertigo and random indie stuff. I do have 2 rings, and for at least a ...

Re: Long time sporadic gamer, first time poster.

Hey Shawn. My name is Sime (with a little tick thingy on the S making it an SH) so not too much indirection there. The good thing about my new found board gaming hobby is that my comic shop is selling the games I am buying so I have just switched my comic budget to games and my account is punished t...

Re: Memoir 44 Physical Board Issues

Thanks so much for that. Looks like I am off to Bunnings this weekend. Now if only I had thought to ask before I ripped my board :)

Re: Memoir 44 Physical Board Issues

How does that work? Do I lay the perspex over the board, then put tile and units on the perspex? Is there a size that will best fit most games? Are misshapen boards common in wargaming or just a good idea no matter what?

Sorry for being so dense.

Memoir 44 Physical Board Issues

My copy of Memoir 44 has a really shitty board. I can't seem to unfold it properly. So the board looks like a wave of sorts. I tried placing something heavy on it for a full day and it made no difference. Then last night when I was setting up I tried to reverse the fold sort of and accidentally ripp...

Re: Settlers of Catan coming to the iPhone

Catan : I really enjoyed this version but the I haven't lost in 4 games so I think I have the AI licked. Still I can get someone to hot seat it might still get some plays. A really nice implementation. 3.5/5 Zooloretto : I have really enjoyed this, as has my wife. I like the game, and the version i...
