Re: ConVic Kids Morning Saturday 24th November

How old are your kids? Hadn't considered it but if there are going to be other kids there of a similar age I might bring my 4 1/2 yr old. Games he likes at the moment are Chicken Cha Cha Cha, Froggy Boogie and Pitchcar (we have the Carabande version). My boys are 4 and 5. I've been trying to get Ch...

Apologies - but it looks like this is probably not going to happen (see last post) But ConVic is still on - so get along to it!!! I have spoken to Julian and he is fine for us to have the kids along on the Saturday morning. - he did mention that its primarily and adult event so he will kick us out ...

Re: VivaJava

I don't think any of them broke the game. A few rules checks/issues [*] I did get the player turn rule right [*] At round end, all blends should get moved East as far as possible, but they last one should not come off unless EVERYONE researched. This would have cut our game short 1-2 rounds... eek s...

Re: Dockers expired cards

Well we don't exactly have an official leader/chairman/secretary to organise these things. We would need to do the run-around to all the games shops to see who would like to continue to associate with us - does anybody have contacts? I'm not sure my work experience at Mind Games when i was 16 counts...

Re: Newcomer - Anyone interested in the following this Thursday?

hiya My guess is that you should be able to get something like Elder Sign up and running pretty easy. I know last week Arkham Horror was talked about. There are plenty who like Diplomacy, but with the game time involved you may need to come along, see what suits people best, and organise it for a sp...

Core Worlds Variant

Looks like this Official Variant might be worth trying to counter what we felt may well be 'turn order' advantage on the final core worlds stages. Seems simple enough to implement without fundamentally changing the game http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/741987/official-consuls-of-the-empire-varian...

[quote="wozzit"] [*]Colony's can be spread at ANY time during your go. By what action. This would have had an impact last night no action. I don't think it actually matters since they only provide income at the end of turn? and if you had more than 3 to spread you'd need to spend an influence action...

Re: Eclipse

Stuff I keep missing: you can retreat ships at the end of a round of combat - the other guy gets a free shot though Retreat....NEVER!!!!!!! all ships of a certain class must retreat at once (eg. cruiser) can a defender retreat to save themselves for a counter attack(excluding starbases) Colony's ca...

Re: Eclipse

Another good game last night.

I was curious about whether Starbases 'pin' or not so i looked it up.
Looks like they do pin.

http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/831396/do-starbases-pin

I think that means i didn't have to move in that 1 extra ship in the early combat (which cost 2 extra movement turns)
