Re: PAX Aus 2014 - Enforcer registrations now open

Depends - if you want to be put to work, then yes. The expectation is that you'll be rostered for 6 hours a day during the show (Friday to Sunday). There's an option to come in Thursday for setup. If you apply to be in Tabletop, you'll almost certainly (99%?) be in Tabletop but as an Enforcer, you'r...

PAX Aus 2014 - Enforcer registrations now open

PAX Aus is getting closer and it will be an exciting year for Tabletop, with around 6000 square metres of space, new exhibitors and expansions to each of the four areas of Tabletop: Boardgames, Card games, Miniatures and Roleplaying games. Applications to become an Enforcer for PAX Aus 2014 are now ...

Let me know what you would like to see - events, panels, games for the library. Remember, Tabletop isn't just boardgames, there are minis, CCGs and RPGs as well.

PAX Aus returns! October 31 - November 2, 2014

Hi all! PAX Australia is back to Melbourne next year, with a new bat-time and new bat-venue (the fabulous Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre). I've taken over as the Tabletop Manager (not just boardgames, Tabletop includes CCGs, minis and RPGs) and am looking for people who want to run event...

Re: PAX Australia in Melbourne July 19-21 2013

Hi all, I'm helping Ian with the boardgames area as "boardgames co-ordinator" (a title that doesn't officially exist in the PAX hierarchy, but means I'm racing around trying to beg and borrow games and ideally get them donated for the library). I'll also be working night shifts at TableTop...

Re: May 3 game night at Northcote Library

Look forward to seeing you all there. I will be there as early as possible - school pickup at 3:30 then racing up so might not be much before 4. I'll bring game 'splainer ribbons too.

Re: May 3 game night at Northcote Library

Excellent list, Kerrin.

I'll have a better look tonight but I can bring backups of a couple of them, also Apples to Apples Kids, Spooky Stairs, Nelly, Sorts for Kids - and a selection of adult games including the Dr Who cardgame. It is Geek Week, after all.

Re: May 3 game night at Northcote Library

Great. I forgot to mention the WWC checks when I met with them, but I think it's a good thing for us to be able to show when we are doing demos like this.

Re: PAX Australia in Melbourne July 19-21 2013

On this topic, Ian Houlihan is the Tabletop Games co-ordinator for PAX AU. He's looking for volunteers to help out with the game library. I've suggested that he come over here and introduce himself, to get the conversation rolling.

Re: May 3 game night at Northcote Library

This is brilliant. I will bring some bright orange ribbon or similar to tie around wrists or pin on, so people can see at a glance who is there to demo. I'm going to focus mainly on kids' games, I think. Also games that work well for demos, like Pandemic - but ideally nothing that takes more than ab...
