Re: Is it time to have two separate Marketplace forums?

Yeah I get alerted too, but the thing is that particular forum is now being used for what I see as two different, albeit slightly related, purposes. I am not particularly interested in trawling through the KickStarter stuff looking for people flogging off second hand games though. So it would make a...

Re: PAX Aus returns! October 31 - November 2, 2014

There are two events running at PAXAus 2014 that you may be interested in. All the official Power Grid maps to be in play at the same time at the same place. See these posts for more details: http://www.melbournegamers.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1826 or http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/1193829/p...

PAXAus Saturday - All the Power Grid maps at once

So here's the plan, on the afternoon of Saturday 1st November 2014 at PAXAus I am planning to set up an event which is to have all the official Power Grid maps in play at the same time in one place. That is all 19 of the maps released for Power Grid, the two maps from Power Grid deluxe: Europe/North...

Is it time to have two separate Marketplace forums?

One for KickStarter and one for not? 8 out of the last 10 posts are KS related.

Re: Le Havre, on app can build ship as final action, rules fail?

Yep, unless you have two wharves out you cannot build a ship on your last turn and then as final action. On the final action you must move your disc, which killed me the time I forgot about that rule and wanted to ship something like 8 steel :-(

Re: Children's school holidays - 1st July 2014

Unfortunately I have no time off work these holidays, so no can do even though Daughter the Elder and Daughter the Younger may be interested. Also it clashes with our visit to the Aztecs. Just bad timing really.

Re: Kickstarter: A Study in Emerald

Anyone got news on this? If anyone wants to take my place in the 6 pack, jump in, I've since received a copy. (But of course will honour the agreement if a) it's still coming and one has my (other) name on it, and b) no one jumps!) I do believe you are on Melissa's list, let us know if you have any...

Re: Kickstarter: A Study in Emerald

From update #23

"All the Australian, NZ and Far East copies are on the slow boat as I type. The games are due to arrive in Australia on the 20th December. They will then be forwarded to our order fulfillment company."

Re: Kickstarter: A Study in Emerald

It is shipping from Europe. The Australian and New Zealand orders are being shipped first to New Zealand and then distributed from there. So it could be a little while yet.

Re: Alternative venue needed

Hey Everyone! Have been out of the gaming scene for a number of years since moving to Melbourne to study, but interested in getting back into it. Met Fraser/Karlsen very briefly at Essen a number of years ago and see that you have moved venues from NAB since then. Before moving, I ran a game group ...

Re: Alternative venue needed

Rumour has it that the new 700 Bourke Street building will have rooms available as was previously the case at 800 Bourke Street. I am not moving to the 700 Bourke Street building so can neither confirm or deny that rumour but Reggy is at some stage in the future, so he should be able to confirm this...

Re: Alternative venue needed

So I just had a chat with one of the Staff at the current Staff Shop which is in the building that will be vacated later this year. The move to 800 Bourke Street will be permanent, i.e. they are getting rid of the meeting rooms and turning it into the new Staff Shop. I don't know what facilities wil...

Re: Alternative venue needed

Is Linus (or was that Linuz) still around? The Latvian Club was a decent alternative venue some years ago, but that was because he was in charge of the bar or secretary of the Latvian Club at the time. Slight problem was that it was in North Melbourne. The stuff at NAB could be ongoing for a few mon...
