Tokaido availability?

Hi, does anyone know a place in Melbourne that stocks Tokaido ( http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/123540/tokaido )? Or a way to acquire Tokaido that doesn't incur a large postage cost? Thus far my best options are: Good Games: who are expecting the game to reach their warehouse sometime (but th...

Re: ConVic Attendee Geek microbadge now available

For those who have more BGG Geekgold than things to spend it on.... I have created a ConVic Attendee microbadge. Hi Julian, I think I've attended ConVic 2 or 3 times (none consecutively; not the last one). I'm not sure if I qualify. Would one participation a ConVic attendee make? The microbadge loo...

Can Chaturanga still be acquired?

Someone I know is looking for a copy of Chaturanga. I think I bought a copy of the Front Porch version (years ago) at Milsims. Milsims doesn't have it in their current catalog. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/18011/chaturanga doesn't seem to suggest that it's out of print. Does anyone know wh...

Re: Billabong Guild

Hi All. I just joined the BGG Billabong Guild. Though I only rarely attend, I can drop in at about 9pm (or earlier if badminton is canceled). I browsed the list of (``want to play'' and ``owned'') games ... ... I own Axiom, The Bridges of Shangri-La, Gemblo and Ultimate Werewolf (not yet played). Be...

Re: Convic 9 - Wrap Up

Thank you Ben for navigating :-) I only played four different games. I had only played Robo Rally in the past. The three new experiences addressed some past curiosities. So, I'm very happy I turned up. Crokinole - long dormant carrom skills arose. I like it, but it's way too expensive to purchase. -...

I may have Oltre Mare as well (though I may have traded it away?)
Hi Gregor,
it would be great if you could bring along Oltre Mare on Saturday (if you still have it).
Was there something you didn't like about the game?
Best Wishes, Viranga

Re: request for games to play at ConVic9

Regarding "properly cut cards", Dune was published with all the cards together on perforated sheets. Before play they had to be separated. In this instance, the distinction is between a set which had the perforations cut, and another where the cards were (carefully) torn apart. I am still not sure ...

I'd be happy to give the basic version of Steam a go. I just watched Tom Vasel's video review. The advanced game would probably be too complicated for me.

I will be there from go to whoa of course. ... if I decide to go I might try try to sweet-talk my good mate Unhalfbricking into car-sharing as Fairfield is five minutes walk down the hill...

Re: request for games to play at ConVic9

Now, I've heard Advanced Civilization mentioned... and I'd just like to say that I wouldn't mind embarking upon a game like that starting early on Sunday morning. OR if that doesn't suit some people, a game of Twilight Imperium 3rd Ed. would definitely get my vote for Sunday as well. I really don't...

Re: request for games to play at ConVic9

The other stalwart, Ryan, would be good to have there although last time we played he mentioned that he was going to rest the game for a while. As his set is better than mine (cards are cut properly for one thing) his involvement would be an advantage. Can I infer that you've printed your own sets?...

Re: request for games to play at ConVic9

That day is when a Here I Stand game has been scheduled - and that is a long affair. I will bring Dune with me, and if there is enough time, I will play in a game of it, but my first priority is to the previously scheduled game. That sounds fine :-) Thank you for bringing the game. Would you be the...

Re: request for games to play at ConVic9

Some of the games you mentioned such as Dune do take considerable time and are best pre-arranged to get the players. Ah, good point/suggestion. It now occurs to me that I rarely find out how long games take. According to bgg: Cyclades (60 minutes), Dune (240 minutes), The Healing Blade (30 minutes)...

request for games to play at ConVic9

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has (and would bring) any of the following games, to ConVic on Sept 4 (the Saturday): Cyclades, Dune, The Healing Blade, Oltre Mare, Quoridor, Traders of Carthage These are 6 of the 8 games on my "want to play" list at bgg. Labyrintus is not yet in production. I plan to...

How to acquire Gemblo

Hi All, I finally acquired Gemblo. In case other people are interested in doing the same... Don't bother with the website www.gemblo.com The few snippets of English don't help with ordering. I contacted Justin Oh (the designer) via www.boardgamegeek.com. Getting a response from him is the slowest pa...
